The WSSF grand finale was one of the biggest and badest ever.  The rain stayed at a light drizzle and the riders were stoked on the 70ft jump. The energy was high and that was visible as the riders seemed hungry to throw down the best air of the night.

It was Parrot who walked away with the $15,000 top prize and crowned king of style at the Shred Show Big Air. After his backside triple cork 1440 mute grab the 18 year rider became the clear winner and finished the finals off with a big floaty method. Parrot won the O’Neill Evolution Big Air a week before with the same trick. He also has a silver in the X Games Aspen this season, under his belt.

Second was Norwegian Kim Rune Hansen sending it with a switch backside double cork 1260 mute grab in the finals.  Third place was Justin Morgan from Ballston Lake, NY.  Morgan’s score reached the 90’s with a switch backside double cork 1260 stalefish.

The village was packed for finals

It was an entertaining evening with Swollen Members preforming during the warm up. It was also nostalgic as about eleven years ago they performed on that same stage as an unknown act.  Around the same time Mike Page won the Big Air with a 720 indy grab a year after an accident that almost crippled him for life.

Memories have been made, let’s see what the champions have for us next year!
