Todd Easterbrook - 2012 In-Bounds Gallery

Shooting on a resort like Whistler-Blackcomb might sound like a dream come true but in reality it's actually really hard to produce world-class action imagery in-bounds. Todd Easterbrook is a hard-working Whistler-based photographer who until this year, had no choice but to shoot on the hill as he had no other means to access the goods.

"Like most things it has it's pros and cons." Easterbrook says, "accessing stuff by chairlift is a quick and easy way to get to the goods, having some amenities around if needed is also a plus and not to mention the terrain that Whistler Blackcomb has to offer...on the other hand it can sometimes be hard to get to things before someone else has as well as finding new features and new ways to shoot them...but that's also part of the appeal."

Todd finally bit the bullet and dropped in on a snowmobile this season and judging by his recent social-media posts, he's not only stoked as hell but planning on using it to further his shooting career. As so often happens though, once you get a taste of the Whistler backountry it's often hard to head back to the more rigid structure of shooting on the resort. "I mean, I definitely want to shoot more in the backcountry," Todd expands, "whether it be sled accessed, splitboard accessed or a combination of both. But much like snowboarding, I feel that the resort still has tons to offer as well as the urban stuff around town. Plus I've yet to do The Deep Winter Photo Challenge and would love to have a crack at that."

As this gallery clearly attests, Todd's got the goods and has a long future in photography so long as he chooses to pursue it.

Keep an eye on 33MAG all season for more of Todd's awesome work!
