A good watch is pretty much the perfect accesory. Practical, while adding a small dash of steeze to your get-out, a good watch is pretty much a must-have these days. And nowadays, they're just as likely to be providing you with useful information for a day in the surf or backcountry as the time!

We love this baby both for it's functionality as well as it's looks. In effect, this is the watch to have if you're out there surfing regularly. It's pre-programmed to more than 270 breaks, waterproof (to 100m), will tell you the tides for the next 48 hours and of course, has all the other regular functions of a sports watch. 7 colors. $225. Not too shabby.
For the outdoorsman: Montre GPS Fenix de Garmin, 395$.
Got a bit more budget and spend every free moment in the outdoors? The Fenix from Garmin might be the watch for you this summer. It's got built-in GPS, an altimeter, barometer and compass. It also has a thermometer, bluetooth and can connect to the Garmin website through your computer so you can download and analyse your activities. Kinda cool!
Headed out on the open road?: Switchback de Columbia, 125$
Want GPS but have a limited budget? Check this baby out. It's got many of the same functions as other GPS-enabled sports watches but keeps them locked down in a fashionable package that's just as comfortable in the city as in the backcountry. It's built-in Trackback function will keep track of your day and alert you if you've strayed too far from your path on your way home.
For the skaters: Scout from Timex, 70$
This puppy is a great "city watch". Not too fancy but with good looks, it comes in multiple colors and is waterproof to 50 meters. A nice simple choice for those not looking to spend a fortune.
For the classy dudes out there: Nixon Rover, 200$
This favourite is back and we love it's classic looks. Available in multiple color and material combinations, it combines metal, leather and canvas. It's a great mix of something an "adult" would wear and something you might see at the skatepark. And of course, with Nixon's reputation for quality, you know your money will be well spent.
