This Video Of Alex Honnold Free-Climbing A 1500-ft Mountain Might Just Be The Most Badass Thing On The Internet

Just imagine the concentration and peace of mind it must take to keep your cool while rock climbing 1500 feet off the ground - with no ropes! 29 year old climbing phenom Alex Honnold is known for risky and never-before-done free-climbs but his latest might just take the cake. El Sendero Luminoso is known as a very tough spot to climb due to the nature of the rock and the fact that it is rarely attempted may have acted as a deterrent for some, but not Alex. After some time at the spot cleaning the line and memorizing the moves, three weeks ago Alex took a shot at it and made it straight to the top. The video clip above may be raw but it sure does an amazing job of giving us some sense of what it might feel like up there. Enjoy.

From Youtube:
On January 15th, 2014 Alex Honnold made the first-ever free solo ascent of El Sendero Luminoso, a 1500-foot big wall in Monterrey, Mexico, rated 5.12d. This is a raw, slo-mo clip from his climb of pitch 7, 5.12a. Footage shot by Cedar Wright, Renan Ozturk, and SkySight RC.
