The state of Utah is that much safer from avalanches after Alta Mountain said hello to the world's cutest avalanche dog. Not sure how fast he can dig though!
According to the Alta blog:
"Fitz is a 7 1/2 week old golden lab. Born at Utah’s DustBuster Kennels, he was just recently brought up to Alta by his handler, Patroller, Adam Nesbitt.
Too young to be working, Fitz will be spending his days getting acclimated to his surroundings, his new co-workers, and inevitably each and everyone of you reading this blog post. When he gets to be around 6 months old, Fitz and Adam will begin more serious training to get Fitz ready for his duties as an Alta Ski Area Avalanche Dog."
Now, before you get all mushy and book your tickets to see Fitz just remember, Alta is one of only three ski resorts in all of North America that still doesn't allow snowboarding. What the heck is up with that?! Guess I'll never have the pleasure Fitz!
