Logan Laplante explains his unique way of thinking about the future. He calls himself a "hacker", according to his own really interesting interpretation of the word – anyone who chooses their own path in life instead of following that of others. Examples like Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and Shane McConkey top his list.
Just because you do things differently doesn't mean you don't have to do them well! He makes a great comparison between education and the mountains. His education, he finds around him. With help from his family, his friends and also through his unique experiences. He calls it " Hackschooling" and brilliantly compares it to a ski hill .
If we all just rode the mountain as it was "intended", there would be a ton of tracks on the runs but all the precious powder would remain untouched. So we head out to the backcountry to seek new experiences and new ways of looking at things – much like the way education should be set up.
