Garrett Mc Namara, Shane Dorian, Kamalei Alexander, Keala Kennelly, and the legend himself Laird Hamilton have been treated to an incredible swell on the Tahitian wave called Teahupo this week.
"We know you know that Teahupoo has been firing. The cheetah already told you that. When Teahupoo roars to life, it is audible and it is fierce. A friendlier-than-expected south swell rolled in to meet the first skis on monday morning, local time. It was around six-to-eight feet, easily paddled but far from weak. By afternoon, however, 20 foot bombs had been towed. And the following day's encore was no different.
There was an enormous team in the water, helmed unofficially by Tahitian demi-god Raimana Van Bastolaer (so, don't be surprised when you see him on some of the swell's best and biggest waves). Maya Gabeira and Carlos Burle were also shining in the line-up of all stars.
While the photos you've already seen from this swell are as breathtaking as surf photography gets, this Red Camera footage takes us to a new level of thrill, drama, and power. Bon appetit."
And here are some incredible photos from the session courtesty of Redbull and photographer Brian Bielmann – go HERE to see the full gallery.
