TGR is owned by Steve and Todd Jones, brothers of big-mountain snowboarding pioneer Jeremy Jones. Small world, eh? Todd explains, “In terms of technological adoption, this may be the most significant step TGR has ever taken. We’re able to mount the GSS system on helicopters, automobiles, boats, planes, and all sorts of other vehicles to shoot the most stable, crisp, clear aerial/motion shots ever captured. In the near future, people will come to expect their content in 4K, and TGR will lead this Ultra HD movement through our feature films, television series, and commercial work.“

We've seen this technology becoming more and more mainstream for a few years now. Think Brainfarm, Sherpas and others, but this new system seems to be claiming even more high-quality, and that can only be a good thing. It's nice to see snowboard and ski film companies growing up and moving into the high-end, and high-budget!, world but at the same time it's always a bit sad to think they may have even less time to devote to capturing skiing and snowboarding. Hopefully this is not the case here! Like we've seen from Brainfarm, sometimes a step back from the world of snowboarding can actually leave you refreshed and re-energized for your next shred project!
