I checked in with Marie-France as soon as she got back from her epic pre-season surf trip with fellow Quebec-born shred superstar Annie Boulanger. Here's what she had to say about the trip followed by some wicked photos from the trip.
33MAG: How did this trip come about?
MFR: Its been a while that I've wanted to check out that beautiful place and Annie always kept telling me and and inviting so this fall I finally hit her up and was like, "Can I come ??" ha!
What was your favorite part of the trip?
The whole trip was even better than what I expected because I had the best tour guide! Annie showed me everything, introduced me to all her cool friends and we just had a blast whatever we were up to. All of it was our favorite part; the food, exploring, surfing, beach walks, talking shit, inside jokes, boob jobs, snorkelling, workouts in the hotel room, massage… it was all just sooooo amazing!
Quickly describe your daily routine for us.
Usually wake up around 5:30, either surf right away or go for a beach walk waiting for a better tide… Then breaky, music, keg stand, a bit of yoga,workout, balcony hang, read for a bit, surf again, come back, shower, dinner with friends and then in bed by 8:30… it was so perfect.
Was is all hot dudes and partying or did you do any exercise, yoga, crystal meditation (!), etc?
It was all hot dudes everywhere lining up at our hotel room everynight… I could see why because we only charged like 15 $ an hour… No… for reals, we just hung out with crystals and lavender and ate quinoa and green smoothies the whole time talking about how spiritual we are… ha! not really though … I guess we were just hanging out, stoked on being there surfing and relaxing while getting blonder by the minute…its called a Bali-age. "Do you love it?" was our theme and yes we loved it.
