Premiering in Canada at the Whistler Film Festival on December 8th, "The Crash Reel" is a documentary by Oscar nominated director Lucy Walker, covering the rise, fall, and rise again of Kevin Pearce – the now-legendary snowboarder who suffered a traumatic brain injury while training in 2009.
Having won audience awards at the South by Southwest Festival as well as in Melbourne and Dallas, the stunning biography is described by Film Threat as, "A superb documentary… uplifting, life-affirming and inspiring, three words that often seem sappy and cliched. This time, they're entirely appropriate."
While the film has already seen airtime in Australia and on HBO, if you haven't caught the full-length version yet, you should do it in full-theatre style, and grab tickets while you can, via www.thecrashreel.com.
