As I write this, it is the 21st of February and Whistler is going on two months without snow. The weather is sunny and conditions are similar to what you might expect in spring. Dirt is beginning to appear in the village and the valley trail is clear. The park has been stellar but to put it bluntly, rails get old to ride and film. We knew that if we wanted to ride real snow and shoot some original content we would have to get our lazy asses off the chairlift and hike. The normal riding crew ventured away from the Whistler park and over to Blackcomb to ride some side country lines. My good friend Ollie Jones came along and teamed up with me to get some stills and shots for the video (and ride a couple lines in between). The lines we came across were much better than we had expected and I found myself wondering why we hadn’t been riding this area throughout the entire dry spell. The boys consistently tore lines apart, and having 2 different cameras angles definitely helped with the productivity of our video. By the end of the day we had a couple minutes worth of footage, a few amazing stills, and massive pow grins on our faces.
