Hype Shit! – Oil Country Episode One

With a serious lack of Canadian snowboard film production companies operating right now, the "Calgary crew" has stepped up to bat with this new web series. The first instalment features Dwayne Wiebe, Kael Hill, Jordan Phillips, Tanner Davidson, Ryan Hall, Steve-o Callen, Guillaume Fortin, and others, killing it in the streets.

Not only is it great to see some proper content coming out of this side of the country, it's especially refreshing to see it done so right. The Oil Country team has clearly put the effort into not only the shredding in the episode, but also into the filming and soundtrack. The cinematography is on-point, with a nice mix of "artsy" shots including dollies and other tech toys, with tons of killer wide-angle stuff that gets you right into the action. I've had the pleasure of shooting with many of these guys and it seems like they've taken a page out of the playbook of Sandbox Films, who we all used to work with.

Good fucking work boys! Stoked to see the rest of the series and we'll make sure to bring you some exclusive 33MAG content along the way if these greasy mofos will let me tag along on some of their shoots.
