WEEKEND READ: Snowfall @ The New York Times

This tale of a tragic avalanche event told incredibly well using multimedia is a must read for everyone. 

It's not often a piece of journalism is created that really makes people think and talk about not only the core story, but the ways in which it is possible to tell it. This is one of those pieces. Words, videos, audio clips, photo galleries, interactive elements and incredible animations explaining some really technical concepts combine to make a truly thrilling read. 

And although the story is tragic, it is important that we all learn from the mistakes of others and help to avoid repeating these types of terrible situations. And for that I extend my thanks to not only the writer of the story, but of course also to those involved for sharing the story.
