Oh Hi There!

Oh Hi There!

Welcome to the new site! I'm super pumped to finally have it up and running after months of hard work on a ton of people's parts and wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you and explain a bit about what 33MAG is and what we hope to accomplish.

A bit about the site:

33Mag.com will be the go-to source for the most current snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing content for Canadians who eat, live and breath these sports, and the lifestyles associated with them. We will bring our viewers the most exciting and relevant content and news from around the web, curated and tailored to their unique tastes, as well as a ton of exclusive and original content exploring all the aspects of these sports and the rad lifestyle behind them.

Working with a dedicated and talented group of photographers, filmmakers and writers, we will publish daily a wide variety of content that goes beyond the same old stuff being constantly rehashed and repackaged on the web these days. We will explore the stories behind the stories and never be afraid to do something a little different than the other guys.

Content policy : There are no secrets at 33Mag. We will let you know if a post was paid for, or if a gift was received (bribes and free gear WILL be accepted). Look for the "Sponsored Content" notice when applicable.

Comment policy : We hope to create an environment where everyone feels like they can add to the discussion, and hope you will want to leave comments on any content you love, hate, or otherwise want to react to. Please feel free to speak your mind, however, we do not accept any kind of hateful comments towards a writer, a reader or anything else deemed offensive.

A bit about me:

My name is Brian Hockenstein and I am the Editor of 33MAG. I love snowboarding and have created a life around it that allows me to snowboard more than I could have ever imagined and spend time in the most incredible locations ever imaginable with people I still consider heroes of mine on a daily basis. Montreal born and bred, I made the pilgrimage out to the snowboarding mecca of Whistler BC a cool dozen years ago and have never looked back since.

I am a professional filmmaker and photographer, mainly working with snowboard-related subjects but of course, surfing and skateboarding are a big part of my life as well. I will be creating a large portion of the content myself as well as working with a large team of awesome writers, photogs, filmmakers and bloggers world-wide who I'm incredibly excited to be working with.

In short, I'm super fucking pumped about this project and am very glad to have you with us.

I told you I snowboarded and take photos but can you believe I can do both at the same time?! Oh yeah, I also have a really cheezy sense of humour! And like exclamation points too!
