Actually, the real name is Calcio Fiorentino, literally Florentine football, and it was created during the Renaissance. It's pretty much the ancestor of both soccer and football and the winning team gets a cow. Sweeet deal!

It's played in an arena that's twice as long as it is wide and matches are 50 minutes long. Each team is composed of 27 players and there is no substitutions on the field, unless someone is expelled from the match.

Elbowing, head-butting, punching and choking are allowed, but sucker-punches and kicks to the head are forbidden. Ha!

The players also wear funny Renaissance pants.
